Drop off and pick up of students is hectic do to lack of a turn in lane. There is nothing to block people from making left had turns into the school pickup line, so people who are to ignorant to plan ahead or turn around and get in line, back traffic up that is trying to get to the elementary school just around the corner.
This is a newer schoolhouse, yet they appear to have paid the lowest bidder to engineer a traffic plan, just as most towns and the state of SC have. It doesn't handle the volume and has no room for growth.
BLMS is a very clean, responsible, caring school. Mrs. G, the front desk lady, is a momma to all of the children. Mrs. Clark the Principal, she is very understanding, beautiful on the inside and out, and quick to fix any concerns. The Vice Principal Mr. Sawyer, treats the students with concern as if they were his own children. The resource officer, Deputy Nelson, he's great. Very nice, experienced, big and kind of scary, but is a big teady bear. My experiences with this school has been excellent. I would rate them a 10 but I'm only allowed 5 stars. Thank you to the teachers, staff, and employees for all they do!!
The location of this school also makes it impossible for most to walk their kids to school or kids to ride their bikes as is done in suburban and innercity schools. The old B&L middle school had a better, town-centered location.
Other than these issues, the isn't too bad. Cut down on some of the old blood running through its veins and it could be great.
